About Conceptual
Chemistry Alive!
Conceptual Chemistry Alive! features mini-lectures, demonstrations,
animations, home chemistry projects, and explorations of chemistry
in the community. Students browse through QuickTime movies in an
interactive environment that follows the table of contents of the
textbook. After viewing a segment, the student answers concept checks
that encourage students to test their understanding of key material
before moving on. A student's answers are recorded in an electronic
notebook that may be printed or saved as a file. More than a study
supplement, Conceptual Chemistry Alive! is a textbook companion
suitable for distance learning programs or for instructors seeking
to free-up class time for student-centered curricula.
